Visit the Legislative Council Complex & have a dialogue with Legislative Council member

    This visit gave students a first-hand understanding of Hong Kong’s constitutional order under “One Country, Two Systems” and of how the Legislative Council operates, including the progression of bills from first to third readings, the committees’ division of labor, and mechanisms for public participation.

    In their dialogue with Dr. Hong Wen, students gained insight into how legislators use evidence-based approaches to advance youth, innovation and technology, and livelihood policies, while also identifying institutional differences between Hong Kong and the Mainland and opportunities for collaboration.

    Students were highly engaged throughout the dialogues with Dr. Hong Wen and the Legislative Council docent.
